The Mayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dasic held a reception for H.E. Mr. Nikolaus Lutterotti, the Austrian Ambassador in the Republic of Serbia. Among other topics, they talked about good bilateral relations between Austria and Serbia, well developed economic and recently started cultural cooperation.
The Mayor expressed his gratitude to the Austrian Ambassador for this visit to Kragujevac, noting that the city was in a very good foreign trade surplus with Austria.
Realised trade exchange with Austria is of great significance. For the first eight months this year the city’s economy has realized 13 million euros worth export to Austria, while in the same period 6,5 million euros import from Austria was realised, said Mayor Nikola Dasic. Kragujevac is an interesting place to invest in, we have a favorable investment climate and we will try to create significantly better conditions in order to be recognised on the world market.
The Ambassador expressed his great content with his first visit to Kragujevac, the city so extraordinary important in the Serbian history.
I had a good meeting with new Mayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dasic, and we talked about economic cooperation between Austria and your country, especially this part of Serbia.
Austria is the second biggest investor in Serbia with over than 400 Austrian companies doing business in Serbia and employing approximately 21.000 workers, the Ambassador Lutterotti pointed out. The Austrian investors are very pleased with conditions provided in your country, and I believe this trend will continue.
The Austrian Ambassador Nikolaus Lutterotti and representatives of the United Nations Development Program in Serbia visited the University of Kragujevac, along with the Center for Bioengineering at the Faculty of Engineering, where they met with the team of innovators who are creating and constructing the 3D printed medical ventilator, the solution that will be further developed owing to financial support of the Austrian Embassy in Serbia.
