Within the two days visit of Hungarian delegation to Serbia, the Hungarian businessmen visited Kragujevac along with Belgrade. Mr. Attila Galambos, President of the Western Balkan Committee of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce stressed the increase of the Hungarian and Serbian companies mutual projects while in the upcoming period the big infrastructure and energy sector Projects are being prepared. Last year two Governments prepared the bilateral infrastructure agreements and their implementation is expected by the end of the year.
Our two respective countries have excellent cooperation, both political and overall, and economic cooperation is a logical consequence, further we aim to establish cooperation of Hungarian and Serbian companies, said Mr. Galambos. We are here to make concrete steps towards the establishment of the cooperation of the City of Kragujevac, the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Sumadija and Pomoravlje with the Western Balkan Committee. Mr. Galambos reminded that the Info Centre of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce was opened last year in Kragujevac with the office of the Honorary Consul that marked the beginning of the economic cooperation.
Business Forum that is being held in Kragujevac is only the follow up of the cooperation and exquisite relations of Hungary and Serbia demonstrating that Kragujevac is becoming the centre of Hungarian interest and investments, pointed Radomir Eric, Member of the City Council in charge of the Economy. The potentials of the City and the Chamber of Commerce are presented on the Forum followed by the meetings of the Hungarian and Kragujevac businessmen. Next step in cooperation establishment is our visit to Hungary.
The fact that the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce brought really important companies before all from IT sector, metalworking industry, agriculture and power industry roused the interest of the domestic companies, said Mr. Predrag Lucic, Director of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Sumadija and Pomoravlje. This is also the opportunity for the promotion of the investment capacities of the City of Kragujevac that are becoming more and more attractive reflected in the significant attraction of the foreign direct investments. This activity, too stands for the increased interest of the EU business community for the Republic of Serbia, Central Serbia and the City of Kragujevac.
According the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia in the period January – March this year total external trade of goods with Hungary was 453 million Euros. External trade of goods of Sumadija and Pomoravlje in the year 2018 was 58.7 million Euros and it was increased by 50% from the exchange from 2017.
