The Mayor of Kragujevac Radomir Nikolic organized traditional reception for the guests and delegations of the twin and friendly cities that with their presence honoured the May festivities and the celebration of Djurdjevdan. Expressing his gratefulness for the confidence and support and all they did for our City, Nikolic stressed that there was no greater happiness than one shared with the friends from all over the world.
Similarities connected us and the differences did not separate us, either. We are searching for common denominators, topics and values. We learn from each other, we network different levels of administration and our citizens, before all the youngest. We established number of manifestations that we organize in our City, all with the view of getting to know each other better and bring closer our culture and habits, said Nikolic.
On behalf of the Government of the City of Xi’an from China, the ancient capital of number of dynasties, with over 3000 years long tradition, the greetings to the citizens of Kragujevac conveyed Jan Kanguaj, International Cooperation Mission chief deputy. The relations of Kragujevac and Xi’an are very important for Serbia, while the cooperation of lower level of the government is reflection of the excellent governmental relations of Serbia and China. Thanks to our President Xi Jinping and Project One Belt One Road we had the opportunity to enhance our brothering relations established in 2016 and develop them contributing to common development.
The Mayor of Jericho Salem Grouf greeted the Kragujevac citizens and pointed that the delegation of the oldest city in the world came to express the message of love, peace and friendship among people.
May your yards be filled with children laughter, may your children cry from joy only and men never take an arm in their hands, said Elmira Vorpajeva on behalf of the Delegation of the City of Mogilev from Belarus.
The representatives of 11 twin and friendly cities among which the guests from Suresnes, Mostar, old city of Sarajevo, Pitesti, Ingolstadt, Bielsko-Biała, Carrere and South Moravian Region of Czech Republic conveyed their greetings to the citizens of Kragujevac and thanked for the excellent organization of May festivities that made their stay in our City remarkably pleasant.
