W ithin two days manifestation of the Days of Israel in Kragujevac, the Mayor of Kragujevac Radomir Nikolic and his associates organized the reception with H.E. Alona Fisher- Kamm, the Ambassador of Israel to Serbia.
Kragujevac is one among the first cities that H.E. Alona Fisher- Kamm visited when she came to Serbia as an Ambassador of Israel to Serbia and ever since then Kragujevac and Israel are making intense efforts on establishing the cooperation in culture and tourism. Today’s meeting open the possibility of cooperation in IT sector, too.
Innovation centers and possibilities of cooperation establishment through start-ups was one of the topic discussed with the Mayor and his associates, said H.E. Alona Fisher-Kamm. She reminded of the Israel start up IT experts last year’s visit and this year one of the leading Jerusalem expert met with IT representatives of Kragujevac within his mentoring programme, and discussed the possibility of development strategy of the start-ups in your city. I am glad, said H.E. the Ambassador of Israel that Kragujevac has large educational resources and the will to support everything that may facilitate the development and future cooperation, that is the reason more to bring the Israel companies.
That is a process that takes time and a reason I come here often, said the Ambassador adding that she is making all efforts to assists the successful and concrete cooperation of Kragujevac and Israel.
The Ambassador of Israel H.E. Alona Fisher-Kamm was presented in Belgrade two IT Projects of Kragujevac, the construction of the 40 million Euro national Recovery Data Center and City Data Center donation of the Peoples Republic of China.
We expect that the City Data Center becomes active from September, the center will be the foundation for Smart City solution in Kragujevac for which we already prepare and design all related activities to be implemented in the city, said the Mayor Radomir Nikolic.
Speaking about the educational system the Mayor said that the City of Kragujevac will enroll from September 60 students in the IT classes of the First and Second Grammar schools of Kragujevac. Special IT classes are also opened in the local self-government units in the area. The Faculties of the University of Kragujevac already has the studies in the sector and yesterday a decision is made to establish the IT Institute within the University of Kragujevac that would most probably be transformed to the Faculty. All that with local IT companies and ICT cluster create a favorable climate for the sector development in Kragujevac.
Taking into consideration the fact that Israel is a start-up World leader our intention is to be prepared and implement their development experiences in Kragujevac. Israel companies on June 19 will be presented in Novi Sad, the city that already established this kind of cooperation and in the next stage we plan to visit Kragujevac and see how attractive the city is for opening their offices here.
One of the topic of today’s meeting was the enhancement of the cooperation in tourism and the wish to make Kragujevac attractive destination for Israel tourists.
