Opening of the Deus Sive Natura the exhibition of relief, collage and sculptures of the retired Professor Milorad Tepavac Tepa marked the beginning of the May festivities in Kragujevac.
The Author dedicated the exhibition to Nikola Koka Jankovic, the sculptor and the academic who is said to be completely devoted to his students, and visited all their exhibitions, rejoiced at the gifts of the young Serbian artists, discreet but very influential.
I exhibit first time in Kragujevac, the old Serbian capital, the City of the first gun-foundry and cars, and I do wish with this exhibition to intrigue and invite the young of Kragujevac to turn to sculpting, said Tepavac. My whole work was devoted to the aforementioned and that is why I chose the sculptures that could intrigue the young so that some of them become the successors of Koka Jankovic. He was my Professor and he really left his mark on Serbian art, I do consider him the best portraitist whose iconic work today shine the light on art, said Milorad Tepavac, Tepa.
The name of exhibition “Deus Sive Natura” is inspired by Spinoza sentence that equals God and the Nature, and which explains the three levels of sculptures of the artist. First steel level represents Life, second wood level represents the Nature, third level is upgrading i.e. what God provided for, explained Tepavac.
Miljan Bjeletic, member of the City Council for Culture attended the opening of the exhibition and said that opening of such representative exhibition opened the May festivities and part of the cultural events and artistic creation to be presented during the month of May.
