At the Monument to the Executed Students in the Memorial Park of Sumarice the unique antiwar manifestation – Great School Class was held in the memory of the executed civilians on October 21, 1941. Wreaths are laid by the students and the principal of the First Grammar School of Kragujevac, Slavica Djukic – Dejanovic, Minister without portfolio on behalf of the Government of Serbia, the Mayor of Kragujevac Radomir Nikolic, representatives of the Doplomatic corps – Thomas Schieb, Ambassador of Germany, Palestinian ambassador Muhammad Nabhan, Ambassador of Slovak Republic Dagmar Repcekova, Ambassador of Israel Alona Fisher . Ambassador of Belarus Valery Brylev, delegations of twin cities, representatives of Sumadija District, University.
Drama “I am Alive and It is Not My Fault” by the author Djordje Milosavljevic is preformed on the occasion of the Great School Class.

Three-act structure of the drama divides the story to three time periods – decades 1941, 1991 and 2001 connects the life experiences of the people that survived Sumarice execution and the young who listened about it here in Sumarice.

Before the Great School Class the Bishop Jovan served the memorial service with the priests of the Diocese of Sumadija.

his year again the Great School Class sends the message of peace – may the Kragujevac tragedy of October 21, 1941 never repeat – said the Minister Slavica Djukic – Dejanovic adding that children and Kragujevac citizens that make the Great School Class mass gathering event are one of the values of it along with the artistic programme.

This October, too remembering all the innocent victims whose only fault was that they were alive on that day, we have sent the powerful and single anti-war message – that the World needs peace and freedom, that people need to live, create and be happy, said Miroslav Petrasinovic, President of the Kragujevac City Assembly.

October 21 is rememberance day in Serbia of all victims of the WW II. On that day back in 1941 the German Nazis in retaliation for the loss of 10 soldiers killed by the partisans on October 16, 1941 in the attack on 3rd battalion of the 749 infantry of the Wehrmacht killed 3000 citizens of Kragujevac and nearby settlements amongst whom 300 school children and 15 shoeshiner boys. Youngest killed child was 11 years old.
