Mayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dasic held a reception for the German Ambassador in Serbia H.E. Thomas Schieb. During the meeting it was marked that there is constant improvement in the German Embassy and the City of Kragujevac relations, owing to foremost intense and comprehensive cooperation between Kragujevac and Ingolstadt since 2003, but also with ever increasing number of German investors.
The Ambassador expressed his content with cooperation between the City of Kragujevac and the German partners on every level, especially with the City of Ingolstadt, along with regard the city has for the investors. In the Region of Sumadija several German companies are operating, one of them is Siemens. The Mind Park project has been successfully launched and I hope there will be more investments. I am very glad that the German economy is showing interest. Also, we have numerous projects within development aid, and we plan to expand cooperation in the fields of environmental protection, culture and education, said Ambassador Thomas Schieb.
Cooperation with Germany is crucial. Germany is our strategic partner in Europe. Their every investment has got a great impact on our economy, Mayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dasic pointed out adding that he expects even better and more fruitful cooperation in every field once the pandemic that hit the World is over.
In the course of the meeting mutual content with the encouraging figures regarding the epidemiologic situation in both countries, including the fact that corona crises did not have drastic impact on the economy in Kragujevac, was communicated.
The Mayor expressed his gratitude for continuous German support provided through various donations and projects to the City of Kragujevac. Recently, renovation of fifteen cupolas of the Museum October 21 building was financed by the German GIZ, while a donation of 35.000 euros was granted to the City of Kragujevac for purchase of the PCR machine. It is planned the machine to be handed over to the Public Health Institute in Kragujevac in order to conduct more efficient testing of the citizens of Sumadija Region in the corona virus pandemic circumstances.
