CNC Training Centre is open in secondary vocational school of Kragujevac marking today 165th anniversary; the Centre is equipped with the latest computerized machines for the training of the young age 15 to 35 for the profession of – CNC Machines Operator.
CNC Training Centre is the outcome of the cooperation among the public and private partnership of the school, City of Kragujevac, companies MIND Group, Siemens, Wacker Neuson, Unior Components, Gorenje Group, Teximp and German development cooperation Project ” Youth Employment Promotion”.
The ceremony of opening was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Development, Ministry of Youth and Sport, Chamber of Economy of Serbia, City of Kragujevac, representatives of the partners’ companies, GIZ and the Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia Mrs. Dorothea Renate Giesmann.
A pillar of partnership between Germany and Serbia is economy, said at the opening the Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia Mrs. Dorothea Renate Giesmann. From the Year 2000 400 German companies 2 billion Euros and created 55 thousand new jobs with a tendency of further increase.
Today in Kragujevac we are celebrating a big success of our mutual cooperation with an aim to train young people in practical skills demanded at the labor market. Secondary vocational school in Kragujevac is the first of eight schools in Serbia that introduced the model of dual education with the support of Germany, said the Deputy Ambassador Giesmann, adding that it is based on long term joint efforts in the spirit of mutual reconciliation.
She expressed the gratitude to all participants in the Project, adding that it is an excellent example of sustainable engagements of German companies in Serbia that contributes to the overall development of the country. Kragujevac Secondary Vocational school is supported through the Project of the Reform of secondary vocational education following the model of dual education last five years within the frame of formal education system and educates the young people in accordance with the local economy needs.
Secondary vocational school in Kragujevac is turning the new page of its development after 165 years from its foundation, said Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Aleksandar Pajić. The latest CNC Training Centre opening represents a step forward of the City of Kragujevac and all of Sumadija towards the challenges of fourth industrial revolution. The Centre will provide for the development of education and facilitate technology transformation and economic development in the field of mechanical engineering, applied electrical engineering and IT. CNC operator is one of the most demanding profession at the local labour market. CNC Training Centre opening is an excellent example of the manner of implementation of the strategic reform of vocational education on the school level adding that it is of overall national significance for the economy that impacts the development of the economy of the Republic of Serbia, too, said Mr. Pajić. First group of 12 young citizens of Kragujevac started the training in the reconstructed school workshop; by the end of 2019 the opportunity to complete the training and find employment at the local companies will be provided for another 36 young people.
The Mayor of Kragujevac Mr. Radomir Nikolic said that the Kragujevac city was struggling with the competitors as well as Serbia was making efforts in the environment to attract largest number of the investors and reduce the unemployment. We are striving to be the most favorable place for investments, tending to improve the conditions and provide the best services to domestic and foreign investors. Without big investments Kragujevac in the last five years records the decrease of the number of unemployed up to 5000 while the statistics records the increase of employment for 5000. Key for the solving of the problem of unemployment is vocation. The industry is developing the City and on the other hand the education system has to keep up with the industry. We are making efforts, said the Mayor Nikolic, to step by step be ahead of other cities and in that way create the base that the investors would distinguish on the map of Serbia regarding the e investments of those that look for the certain professions and that their choice would be the City of Kragujevac. Congratulating the 165th anniversary of the Secondary- Vocational School the Mayor Nikolic expressed the hope that the school would continue to develop and be one step ahead of all other schools in Serbia.
Solemn academy in honour of 165th anniversary of the school is held at the Old Foundry Museum where the certificates of appreciation were handed to the individuals, institutions and companies.
