International Puppetry Festival Zlatna Iskra organized by the Ministry of Culture and the City of Kragujevac gathered this year 9 theatres from the country and the world. From May 13- 17 the audience will see the ensembles from Ukraine, Russia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Montenegro, Subotica, Belgrade and Novi Sad.
The artistic quality of the plays will be decided by the International Jury with the President Livija Kroflin from Croatia and members Tim Grabnar from Slovenia and Sasa Latinovic from Serbia.
Puppetry original, quality and versatile plays add to the beauty of this Festival and invite the audience to cherish Zlatna Iskra, said Jelena Stojanovic- Patrnogic, the Director of Kragujevac Children’s Theatre at the opening of the Festival. Each festival that asserts art for children is contribution to art of every state because it forms the new generations of theatre audience. Our mission is to leave our mark to our youngest audience that will protect them and safe keep them in their brining up helping them to grow up stronger ready to face the world by living different emotions during the plays not only tears, laugher and sorrow but excitement and rage, too.
Ana Konnonenko preformed at the opening of the festival with the play Kragujevac in Sand Trails. With moving technique the artists create in sand and resulting into the sand film that introduced the audience from the country and abroad with our history on the stage of Children’s Theatre and Kanjazevsko- Srpski Teater. Creative painting workshops, social games and children animation will be held within the accompanying programme of the Festival on May 14, 15 and 16 from 5pm at TC Plaza.
